Project 1
‘GREEN’ SPORT’S INFO-EQUIPMENT SHED: EXPLORING THE ENVIRONMENT POETICS
This project is for us to explores the environmental poetics of a structure that respond to the basic natural context such as the sun, wind, heat, cold, energy issue, and the existing context. We are required to design a small space within an open area applying ideas of environmental sustainability in architectural design. The structure should provide both a shelter and suitable environment for users.
In the group of 3, we need to build 1 shed, to improve better quality of sports in "Taylor’s University Sport Facilities Area".The site is located next to the sport facilities areaThe site is located next to the sport facilities area and the main purpose of our design is to provide info on sporting events and activities, shelter for students waiting to use facilities as well as a minimal area for storage/ services.
By finishing this project, we managed to Apply ideas of environmental sustainability (gained from precedent studies, ESD and Building Science 1) in architectural design. We have learnt discipline specific knowledge which enables us to put theories into practice as well as understanding professional practice within the field of studies. Besides, communication, interpersonal and intrapersonal skills also have been trained as we were doing this in group.

Project 2
MAH MERI COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT & ENGAGEMENT CENTRE
This final project calls for a design of a simple public building with some complexity that includes the complexity of site topography and vegetation, socio-cultural events, and variety of strategies for sustainable design.
It explores design solutions that harness environmental qualities and conditions for human and environment sustainability through a project with a specific community of users. Students explore design solutions that reduce environmental impact utilising clustered spatial typology and passive design approach. The design work should contribute to and merge harmoniously with nature and the site, and provide the best of experiences for the users.
The site is located in Mah Meri Cultural Village at the Kampung Orang Asli Sungai Bumbun, Pulau Carey, Selangor. South of Port Klang is Pulau Carey, a combination of oil palm plantations and orang asli outpost. The island is home to the indigenous Mah-Meri people, who are known for their intricate wood carvings of spirit animals, which are sometimes used for spiritual healing. They are one of the 18 Orang Asli groups named by the Malaysian government and most of them live in small villages on the fringes of other cities and on Pulau Carey, which has five separate villages of Mah Meri
Upon this final project, I have learnt to understanding professional practice within the field of studies. For examples, I have successfully managed to generate design based on the unique character and conditions of the site context, and through conscious consideration of section-plan relationship with considerations of human scale, natural light, materials/ texture and with sustainable design. Besides, thinking and problem solving skills have also been obtained as I have to faced many problems while making my models and drawings. This project also help me to obtain lifelong learning skill as this is the first time I used the digital method to present my design.
